The National Museum in New Delhi is one of the largest museums in India

Established in 1949, it holds a variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art.

The museum has 200,000 works of art, both of Indian and foreign origin, covering over 5,000 years of History in front of your eyes.

Pragati Maidan are two Hindi words, which in English means “Progress Ground” or “Development Park”, a venue for large exhibitions and conventions in New Delhi. With 72,000 sq. meters of exhibition space, it is presently Delhi's largest exhibition centre.

Pragati Maidan offers about 61,290 sq. meters of covered exhibition space in 16 halls, besides 10,000 sq. meters of open display area. The complex houses 18 exhibition halls, several buildings, eateries, performance spaces and compounds, including headquarters of the Indian Trade Promotion Organization, It hosts over 70 national and international exhibitions annually, with the largest being the India International Trade Fair which attracts over 10,000 exhibitors and over 30,00,000 visitors. This complex houses five permanent exhibitions which include the Atomic Energy and Defense Pavilion. Some of the events held in Pragati Maidan are the India International Trade Fair, World Book Fair and the Auto Expo. There is also an internal shuttle bus service for those who do not wish to walk. Pragati Maidan houses a movie theatre called Shakuntalam, which is quite popular amongst tourist and locals as well ..!

LKA -The Lalit Kala Akademi or National Academy of Art is India's National Academy of Fine Arts. The academy was inaugurated in New Delhi on August 5th, 1954.

Lunch: The menu rotates on a weekly basis , Out guests can pay a very nominal amount and eat the Indian as well as western food such as : Roti (non-leavened flat bread with whole wheat), daal (lentil soup of the day), red hot pepper paratha (pan fried non-leaved spicy flaky bread with regular wheat flour), lamb kabobs (grilled, spiced and minced lamb meat cakes), dry spiced potatoes and curried keema (minced meat with peas in a spicy curry). A simple and delicious meal can be followed up by excellent espresso coffee.

Window shopping: Inside the small complex there is a garden shop that sells traditional hand crafted terracotta garden toys, small birds, bird feeders, fountains, wind chimes etc.. It is a pleasant stroll even if you are not buying anything !

Guests can also see and enjoy the Artists working on their paintings and sculptures live, and if interested , can also buy the artwork directly from the artist by paying the advance amount.

To enter and visit inside THE Bahai House (which is a V.V.I.P. Zone) , a very special permission and ‘recognition’ has to be taken and granted directly from the “Gen. Sect. – National Spiritual Assembly of Bahai’s of India”, along with the consent and recommendation from Senior members of the HOUSE & Local Spiritual Assembly of Delhi.
Once the permission and 'the recognition' is granted ….only then… the locals / domiciles & the foreigners are truly blessed to breathe inside the Pure, Divine and the Mesmerizing atmosphere of "Bahai House" , without any prejudice and obstacles. If fortunate enough..!
